MAC Cosmetics Employee Discount limitations?

Hi one of my friends works at mac cosmetics based out of a Nordstroms. As I understand it employees do not get a discount off of make up cases. Is this information accurate?

I want to get them makeup organizers such as the carry all case for christmas but only if its the same price if I buy it vs them buying it. If its cheaper for them to get it I will get them something else. Please Help thank you.

It usually depends on the store. I’m pretty sure they do get discounts on everything.
